Abstract

In several traditions narrated from the Prophet (pbuh) and the Imams, the phrase “یَمْلَأُ اللهُ به الْأَرْضَ قِسْطاً وَ عَدْلًا کَمَا مُلِئَتْ‏ ظُلْماً وَ جَوْراً” has been used to describe the world before the Appearance of the Imam of the Time (A.S). If the mentioned phrase is not carefully investigated, it can lead to many misconceptions and deviations. This paper, with a hadith-oriented approach and with a descriptive analytic method, examines this phrase. Studies show that the Appearance does not stop on the fullness of the world with oppression. More important than the signs of Appearance are the conditions among which is the “public acceptance”. The public acceptance can happen in two ways: either by gaining insightful acceptance and preparation, human being seeks salvation and the Appearance occurs, or because of the difficult circumstances, human finds an emergency acceptance and as the result, it leads to seeking the Savior. Thus, this phrase is only a type of news about the future that human will take the second way and therefore, will be oppressed.
