A Study on the Idea of Salvation and Belief in the Promised in the Religions
Hussein Ali Jabbari
Abstract
In the study of religious sources, the issue of “Promised Savior” is as old as the history of religions in the world. One of the issues that has led to the hope and social unity among any religion is the issue of the Promised Savior and a society free of corruption and oppression. What will be addressed in this study as the question of research, is the investigation of the idea of salvation and belief in the Savior among all religions, including Abrahamic, and non-Abrahamic ones, such as Judaism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Manichaeism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. The research methodology used in this paper is of first- and second-degree studies with a descriptive-analytic method, using the first-class religious sources. What is certain is that the idea of the Promised Savior is one of the most important beliefs which have attracted the attention of many believers in religions around the world, and have created hope and a clear outlook toward the future among the religions.
Keywords: salvation, belief in Savior, religions.
